some news - July 2011

Hello friends,

there have been several really exciting new developments happening for me lately - they kept me very busy, but now I'm finally getting around to updating on here. Let me fill you in:

 - My official website finally launched!
It's www.philipheubeck.com, and I invite all of you to go there and have a look, as it is the most definitive account of my work anywhere on the web (this blog is embedded in it, so you can access it via my homepage from now on if you like).
There are some updates we'll still be getting done in the weeks to come, especially under "installations & multimedia" but for now I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
All due credit goes to my friend Jared M. Ashcraft, who created the page from scratch, and who is accepting commissions for website designs ...... NOW.
(find his contact info at the bottom of the website)

 - "Evolution"
In just a little more than a month, on September 2nd, 2011, my next solo show will open here in Fort Myers, Florida at Arts for ACT Gallery. If you're in the area, please come out during ArtWalk or any time during the month of September.
Preparing the "Evolution" show has been taking up the majority of my time over the last weeks and months, and I will be posting flyer/poster designs on here as soon as I finish them.
The title holds several meanings for me. There will be a range of works on display, so that my personal artistic evolution so far will be represented. I'll be showing 2D as well 3D pieces (for example the wood surface studies, exposing them to a wider audience for the first time) and maybe one or two multimedia pieces.
In another way, "Evolution" will mostly focus on biodiversity, animals and plants as well as geographical and microscopical forms.

 - The San Carlos Collective
I am now part of a collective of local artists called The San Carlos Collective.
The other members are:
Lauren Baker
Carrell Courtright
Joseph Frantz
Rusty Coe
Chris Carver (aka Mr. Revrac)
Tarra Wood
Matthew Engel
We are currently working on exhibiting at one of the satellite shows of Art Basel in Miami Beach from December 1-4, 2011... Of course I'll post news as soon as they become official.
What's really wonderful about this group is that after Miami, we'll try to bring the show back home, into the SW-Florida area - maybe the group will last for a while beyond that, which would be amazing.

More soon...
P.
